Flo Rida is coming to St. Joe’s tomorrow, April 7, and as excited as we all are, most of us definitely need a refresher. Mr. Rida was playing at our 8th-grade dances, high school homecomings and is maybe even on some of our repeated playlists.
I personally haven’t had Flo Rida in my life for a while, but boy am I looking forward to jamming out to his music again. So to get us all ready for an epic performance, here is a recap of some of his greatest hits.
Low (feat. T-Pain)
An automatic crowd-pleaser, this is one of the first Flo Rida songs I think I was introduced to. I have vivid memories of dancing in my middle school gym to this song and feeling like it was a little risque. For my concert outfit, I think I’ll have to wear either my apple-bottom jeans or my Reeboks with the straps (with the straps).
Good Feeling
This song’s hype is truly incredible and does in fact fill me with a “good feeling.” It also brings me back to the summer of 2012 when everything was easier (but also a lot of us were still in middle school, so was it really that much easier?) I do remember feeling super cool listening to this one, so if it’s not performed at the concert, there will be no good feelings.
Wild Ones (feat. Sia)
Flo Rida is great on his own, but throw in some featured artists and his songs explode. Sia kills it, plus I really like the piano on this track. This song definitely made plenty of tweens feel crazy and get pretty “wild” and will probably inspire the same effect on a gym full of college students.
My House
A Flo Rida classic, this was definitely a staple of many homecomings. This song is for all the homebodies who would rather stay in, but still want to have a great time. Thank you, Flo Rida, for seeing everyone and being relatable.
I Don’t Like It, I Love It (feat. Robin Thicke & Verdine White)
Another song with featured artists, this one starts off strong with Robin Thicke and the catchy tune gets stuck in my head immediately. Although I think we can be sure there won’t be a Robin Thicke appearance tomorrow night, I do hope Flo Rida treats us to this throwback. I don’t like this song, I love it. And I love you, Flo.
