As Philadelphia moves into the green phase of reopening, more activities are becoming available to the public. Although it’s important to practice social distancing while out and about, that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy your summer. Check out these fun activities, both virtual and in-person, that you can enjoy while staying safe.

Parks on Tap

Enjoy fresh food, beer and nonalcoholic beverages with friends this summer at Parks on Tap, one of Philadelphia’s outdoor beer gardens. The garden has transitioned to a stationary location on the grounds of the Fairmount Park Horticulture Center, with comfortable outdoor seating and ample space for social distancing. The beer garden has clear boundaries and is self-contained. New safety measures and protocols are being implemented as well. Parks on Tap is open 4 p.m.-10 p.m. on weekdays and 12 p.m.-10 p.m. on weekends.

Wawa Welcome America Philadelphia 2020

Philadelphia’s annual Fourth of July celebration has taken a virtual format this year. The virtual events include daily wellness tips and exercises, fitness activities for all ages and various virtual museum tours. The celebration is one week long, starting June 28 and ending July 4, with a live virtual concert broadcasted on NBC10 Philadelphia, headlined by Cynthia Erivo and Jason Derulo.

Treetop Quest Philly

Challenge yourself at this aerial adventure park. Enjoy over 60 different tree-top obstacles and ziplines for all ages and levels. Conveniently located in Fairmount Park, Treetop reopens on July 1 and is accepting call-ahead reservations.

The Parking Lot Social

The Parking Lot Social has reimagined the drive-thru experience. It features various programs for all ages, including live bands, trivia, silent disco, movies and more. All activities are available to enjoy right from your car–perfect for social distancing. This brand-new experience is scheduled to come to Philadelphia July 29 through August 9, location to be announced.
