Danyon Kirchner, a volunteer for New Leash on Life, with his dog Franco, who was adopted through the program. Through this program, inmates train dogs to be adopted. “The dog is, for three months, totally trained, it’s house broken—everything about the dog is ready to go,” Kirchner said. “The beauty of it is that you’re giving the dog a new chance, and you’re also helping the inmate get a career and help him not keep recidivating.” PHOTO: MITCHELL SHIELDS ’22/THE HAWK

Rochelle Satchell, co-founder of Peace and Love, stands in front of her cabana at Cause Village. This organization advocates for the need to have a more peaceful and safer society. “I’ve gone to a lot of concerts and festivals, and I would say that Made In America is the only festival that I’ve been to that makes causes and social change movement a priority,” Satchell said.
