We are truly spoiled as St. Joe’s students. Not many Philadelphia schools have the luxury of such a beautiful campus: the green fields, Barbelin Hall (also known as “Barb” to the students), the other green field, the giant dirt pile where another green field used to be and also Barb. We are truly blessed. Anywhere on campus can make for a scenic, serene and beautiful spot to get your schoolwork done. So, here are the best spots to study on and around campus!

“Barb beach”: There’s nothing quite like the feeling of the sun beating down on you on a 98-degree day. Every year, we have record highs in temperature, so there’s no better way to celebrate than by sitting on those big, concrete slabs right outside the library, otherwise known as “Barb beach.”

Manayunk: These quaint suburbs not too far from campus are the perfect destination for anyone wanting to leave the city life for some peace and quiet. The streets are populated by cute little coffee shops, which are perfect for the most studious of students. If you’re looking for a late-night study spot, make sure to check out the many fine establishments on Main Street for a library-esque atmosphere.

The middle of City Avenue: There’s nothing more serene than traffic.

Anywhere in Barbelin Hall: This is the perfect building to get loads of work done since you have a good chance of getting stuck in there for at least three days after losing your way inside.

McNeil Science and Technology Center at University City: Are you a Hawk Hill student looking for a change of scenery? Well, how about taking a little trip to our beautiful UCity campus? The extremely convenient shuttles between Hawk Hill and UCity cycle every 45 minutes outside of Mandeville. So just hop on one and… oh wait, no, you missed it. Well, better luck next time.

The Perch basement: Did you know The Perch has a basement? Now you do! Happy hunting!

The underpass construction site: A perfect spot for any busy student. Conveniently located right outside Villiger Hall, with plenty of dirt piles to play in. Don’t forget your hard hat!
