Hello Hawks!

It's hard to believe that this is the last issue of the semester. Finals and summer are just around the corner, and it's definitely a bittersweet feeling. Though I'm ready for a break from papers, exams and presentations, it is always sad to leave Hawk Hill.

In these last few weeks of school, the Student Senate has continued working for you. We've recently completed our comprehensive survey of advising in the College of Arts and Sciences. Thanks to you, we've collected close to 700 different opinions, and we're putting them to work.

The Senate has passed a resolution supporting the survey results, which indicate that students want and would benefit from a CAS Advising Center. We're also compiling a report detailing your feelings on different aspects of advising to present to the administration. The results of the survey and this report will be posted on the Senate website in May if you'd like to check out the information.

Since it's the end of a school year, I'd like to take this opportunity to say a few things…

Freshmen, I hope you have enjoyed your first year here at St. Joe's! If you didn't get a chance to get involved this year, I encourage you to think about it for next year. I've been talking to a lot of seniors lately, and most of them say that they wished they got involved earlier. So, please take their advice and get involved next semester. As for now, enjoy your much-needed summer break, and get ready for another amazing year in the fall.

Sophomores and Juniors, I encourage you to do the same. Don't get too wrapped up in your schoolwork-make some time to get involved on campus. It can change your entire college experience, and can help you get a job in the future.

And last, but certainly not least, I'd now like to thank the seniors of St. Joe's for all of their hard work and dedication. You've all undoubtedly made an impact on St. Joe's and on the lives of your fellow Hawks.. You're going to be missed here on Hawk Hill, and we hope that you'll come back to visit us in the future.

Within the class of 2008 are a few seniors who have spent most of their time here at St. Joe's working with the Senate and trying to make our university a better place for all. Dan, Lou, Mike, Lauren, Keith, Kyle, Barry and Ryan… the Senate would like to thank, congratulate, and wish you the best of luck in the future. We miss you already, and we will try our best to carry forth your hard work in the future.

Congratulations and best wishes to the class of 2008! Happy summer, Hawks!

With Love for SJU,

Holly
