The Phillies' win over the Washington Nationals, 6-1, on the last day of the season, coupled with the New York Mets 8-1 defeat to the Florida Marlins, propelled them into the postseason. The Phils' resurgence was of historic proportions, as they erased a Mets' lead of seven games with 17 games left to play, the largest margin ever overcome in such a short time period in the history of Major League Baseball.
The Phillies will host games one, two, and five (if necessary) of a best-of-five game series with the wild-card winning Colorado Rockies starting on Wednesday in Philadelphia.
