By virtue of their dramatic, extra-innings win Monday night, Todd Helton and the Colorado Rockies have earned a trip to Major League Baseball's postseason. The playoff matchups are set, with the series to start on Wednesday.
In the American League, the Central Division Champion Cleveland Indians will play host to the wild-card entry, the New York Yankees. In the other division series, the Boston Red Sox, champion of the AL East, will host the West division champion Los Angeles of Anaheim.
In the National League draw, the Rockies will begin a series against the NL East Champion Philadelphia Eagles, while the Chicago Cubs, champions of the NL Central, face Western division champion Arizona Diamondbacks.
All division series are best-of-five format.
The winners of each division series will advance to their respective best-of-seven League Championship Series to play for the right to represent their league in the World Series
To celebrate the return of postseason baseball to Philadelphia, selected members of the Hawk staff have entered in their playoff picks.
