HOT:
heyphilly.com: This Web site gives you an insider look at the hottest parties, events, and drink specials happening all over Philly. Updated daily, you'll never again sit at home with nothing to do. Sick of going to the same club or bar? Then definitely check out this site as it's loaded with hundreds of establishment listings for every night of the week.
The best part is that the site lists plenty of events in advance, so you'll be the first to know where the new hot spot is. There are tons of party photos and videos too, so don't be surprised if you catch you and your friends dancing the night away at Mad River. Hey Philly also has two sister sites: aroundac.com and heypittsburgh.com, so you'll always be connected and always in the know.
What are you waiting for? Check it out! http://www.heyphilly.com
"The Office": Season four of this bitingly funny show premiered last Thursday and already I can't get enough of it. With Jim's and Pam's feelings finally out in the open, there's definitely potential for plenty of juicy inter-office relations. Dwight is as crazy as ever, and if the season premiere was any indication of the rest of the season, it seems as though Dunder Mifflin is going to have its hands full.
If you've never seen the show, you're missing out. One episode and you'll immediately be hooked, saying goodbye to "Grey's Anatomy" and hello to your new favorite Thursday night show. And besides, who can say no to Steve Carrell?
NOT:
Jorts: Jorts, a term referring to jean shorts, have been popping up all over the place and I don't like it. It's one thing to wear a cute pair of dark denims out at night, but completely another to do the stone wash or acid washed variety. Popular with older men, I've seen a jort revival the past few weeks.
From the man in Acme rocking the black denim kind, complete with high tube socks and a pair of Nikes, to the girl power walking down City Ave (yes, she was sporting them to exercise), jorts are apparently making a serious comeback, and I'm wishing that it was all just a bad dream. I've seen them long and baggy and short and way too tight. If the jorts convention is in town, I clearly did not get the memo.
Just a note: if you decide that jorts are your thing, please remember that matching them with another denim article of clothing (i.e. denim jacket) is a big no. Denim on denim just isn't a good look on anyone (for further reference see Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake circa 1999).
