Take a seat and rest a little bit.
Take some time off from studying or procrastinating from studying and listen to Head Coach Phil Martelli talk about his team struggling to find their place in the Atlantic 10 and in college basketball.
Or listen to him talk about his fondest memories on Hawk Hill.
The Hawk Talk media coverage is two-fold, consisting of a radio show on WNTP 990 AM and the flagship television show, which airs locally on ComCast Sports and is nationally syndicated on College Sports Television.
Both the radio and television broadcasts offer something different for their loyal viewers.
The cornerstone of the Hawk Talk is the weekly television broadcast, recorded live from the Hawk Rock in the Campion Student Center.
During the half-hour show, Martelli and Lunardi look at St. Joe's hoops in connection with the city of Philadelphia, with the help of prominent guest stars from all over the city.
As it is broadcast nationally, the television show caters to a broader picture of St. Joe's basketball, with more emphasis on national issues.
The latest installment of Hawk Talk featured offensive lineman Jon Runyan, dubbed by Martelli as "the finest lineman in the history of the Philadelphia Eagles", and Temple Men's Basketball head coach Fran Dunphy, the man Martelli jokingly named "The most consistent human being I've ever seen."
With the diverse guests attracted to the show, the hosts are able to explore the deeper issues of Philadelphia sports.
Among the issues championed by Martelli and Dunphy are the various Coaches vs. Cancer benefits occurring in the area, as well as the community service performed by Runyan during his stay in Philadelphia.
Looking for more than just banter, the television show fails in comparison to HawkTalk with Joe Lunardi. Too many television commercials and not enough script, the radio show offers better angels and perspectives on college basketball.
