In the Student Life Office, we assess the number of students who were found responsible for violating the student code. Listed here are these numbers, specifically broken down by violation. Also included, are a few examples of the possible sanctions that can be assigned for each charge. It is important to note that students living off campus are subject to same policies, as they are still students of Saint Joseph's University. Each case is handled on an individual basis, so the sanctions that are listed may not be the same for particular students.
Several factors are considered when determining the appropriate sanctions for students who are found responsible for violating the policies. Present attitude, honesty, willingness to make amends, previous discipline history, and the severity of the violation all contribute to sanctioning.
More information can be found on the website www.sju.edu/communitystandards, in the Student Handbook, or in the Student Life / Community Standards Office located in Campion 239.
