"All I want for Christmas… is the thing I have been hinting at for two months!" Many find it so hard to think of the perfect gift for their significant other, when all the while they are singing it for you in the highest key they can muster. Sometimes this brain-teasing process can be solved by just listening. Your sneaky secret Santa might be dropping hints- so start paying attention. Focus in on what they have been outwardly admiring or commenting on. If you can tune in, you not only have the opportunity to get them something desired, but you will even look thoughtful.

For all those Grinches out there who aren't giving clues about what they asked Santa for-get romantic! Family members and friends can get them the things they need, you are responsible for making the holiday extra special. Plan something different, do little considerate things that add up to greatness, make them feel like you really contemplated their gift and really considered their happiness. Most of the time people want quality, not quantity- so make their gift memorable. Jewelry tarnishes and usually get tossed if there is a parting of ways, clothes go out of style, and there are certain presents that are just lame. Make the gift something they are going to talk about forever and no matter how the relationship ends up, they will remember the best Christmas they ever had was with you.

Another song that is sung around Christmas time is that depressing hymn of "I'm dreaming of a… Christmas where someone cares about me and showers me with presents!" The holidays are better when you can share them, but that does not require a seasonal soul mate. Surround yourself with loving, single (if possible) friends and family members who cannot wait for you to come home. Use the time to catch up with friends from home or comfort people who are struggling with this time of the year. Remember the reason for the season, and not only from a religious perspective, but as a time to appreciate all that you do have. And let's face it, without a significant other you don't have to brainstorm gifts for them or play Sexy Santa with a romantic clause.

Whatever the holiday means to you or brings your way, enjoy it! This is the time to appreciate snow forts, hot chocolate, and stockings. So stop the naughty list bit and be jolly! Have a happy and healthy holiday from Melody who explains it all (well at least some it!)
