What's Hot:
Lucky Strike Lanes: The first "bowling lounge", originating in Hollywood, CA, has finally made a home in Philadelphia. Located on Chestnut Street, this upscale bowling alley/club features not only bowling, but also a billiard room and a VIP lounge. Now you can join the likes of celeb fans including Jon Bon Jovi, Vince Vaughan and Cameron Diaz and find out what all the buzz is about. For more information visit the Lucky Strike website: www.bowlluckystrike.com .
Borat: Da Ali G Show's most popular character leaves his native Kazakhstan in this movie to fly to New York and find out information from intelligent Americans, only to find his journey leads him in a different direction after watching an episode of "Baywatch." Will Borat convince Pamela Anderson to marry him? You'll have to go see it to find out.
ABC.com: Don't know whether Addison chose McDreamy or McSteamy? Haven't seen "LOST" in three weeks? Not a problem. The network's website now has every episode from their most popular primetime shows accessible 24/7. With the newest episodes being put on the site the day after their first run, it's easy to catch up with your favorite show without waiting for it to turn up in reruns. The best part of all: only three 30-second commercials are aired throughout the entire show, allowing you to skip right through them and get back to the good stuff.
What's Not:
Ryan and Reese Break-Up: The recent separation of Hollywood's "golden couple" has garnered not only a ton of media attention, but has also caused a stir of emotions on the St. Joe's campus. Junior Chelsea Wade stated that, "I thought they were above all the Hollywood nonsense." She then added that, "I am happy that Ryan is single though…he's sexy."
"House of Carter's": The brainchild of E! Television documents the trials and tribulations of Nick Carter (former Backstreet Boy), brother Aaron (who you might remember singing the party anthem "Aaron's Party (Come Get It)" and their siblings as they cohabit a mansion, free of their money grubbing parents. Five minutes in, I was forced to silence the Carter Clan, because I couldn't deal with Aaron's sloppy drunkenness in the grocery store and determination to be portrayed as a chick magnet. Maybe if your second single wasn't entitled, "How I Beat Shaq", people would take you a little more seriously.
Christmas's early arrival: While walking through the mall this weekend, I discovered that not only were there various ribbons, snowflakes and presents adorning the walls and storefronts, Santa was contentedly sitting on a chair, with a line of children waiting to hop into his lap and reveal their holiday wish list. I'm all for Christmas-it's one of my favorite holidays, but come on-it's not even Thanksgiving yet! It seems as though stores are getting into the holiday spirit earlier each year and it's making me crazy. Not only am I stressing over registering for classes and finals, I now have to worry about whether Williams and Sonoma will still have that Cuisinart mixer I wanted to buy my mom in stock in mid-December, or whether their supply will be out and I'll be stuck purchasing my mom the same St. Joe's sweatshirt she already has in another color. Ahh!
