The Holiday (Dec.8)
Jack Black continues his spiral into irrelevance, going from being genuinely funny comedian, to guy running from a giant ape, to a remarkably unfunny comedian.
In this romantic comedy, Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet switch houses and find new love in a new continent with Jude Law and Jack Black, respectively.
So if you're into Jack Black as a romantic lead, please, seek help.

Blood Diamond (Dec .8)
All you need to know about this film can be found in a thirty second spot where Leonardo DiCaprio explains the subtle difference between American and African cultures.
In America, it's called 'Bling Bling,'" he enlightens us, "But in Africa, it's 'Bling Bang.'"
Uh, thanks Leo.
The movie is actually about DiCaprio, a mercenary, helping a Sierra Leone fisherman recover a rare pink diamond and save his family. If you can get past the whole 'Bling Bang' thing. Ugh.

Eragon (Dec. 15)
Harry Potter meets Lord of the Rings, as a young man is transported into a world of magic and dragons. Nerds get nosebleeds of joy.

The Pursuit of Happyness (Dec. 15)
If this Winter has a sappy, feel good film, this is it. Will Smith plays a salesman who must provide for his son when they get evicted from their San Francisco apartment. He decides to take an unpaid internship at a prestigious stock brokerage as he and his son struggle to make ends meet.
No word on whether this will be Smith's first ever film role without saying "Aw, Hell no!" at some point.

Rocky Balboa (Dec. 20)
Philadelphia's favorite septuagenarian is left in a quandary: His beloved Adrian is dead, his son is grown, and his money is gone. Desperate to climb out of depression, Rocky does the only thing he can do:
Dance!
Okay, so not really. He's going to step back into the ring and challenge the Heavyweight Champion of the World.
Whether we like to admit it or not, as Philadelphians, we will go to see this. One can only hope that Stallone decided to keep that charming robot character from Rocky V. It certainly out-acted Tommy Gunn.

Night at the Museum (Dec. 22)
Ben Stiller stars in this much anticipated live action PG film, his first since Heavy Weights. Stiller plays a bumbling loser with a heart of gold who takes a job working the security night shift at a history museum. When the lights go out, the exhibits come to life and create mischief.
Stiller tries to manage with the help of a wax statue of Teddy Roosevelt played by Robin Williams. At least we can be fairly sure that Roosevelt won't do any silly voices or John Wayne imitations.
