Women's basketball and rowing sign six top recruits

The St. Joseph's University Women's basketball and rowing team will have new and young faces next year.
Six young female athletes have singed letters of intent to play for St. Joes in the 2007-2008 season.
Kallie Hovatter, Dominique Bryant, Laren Robinson and Sarah Acker will be joining Coach Griffin and her team on the basketball court next year; while Danielle Brady and Brianne Kammerman join Coach Quinlan and the St. Joes crew team on the Schuylkill River.
Kallie Hovatter, a 5 foot 8 guard comes to St. Joes from Stonewall Jackson High School with an impressive record including leading her high school in a 48-24 record over her past three years of playing.
Averaging 20.6 points, 7.4 rebounds, 5.0 steals and 3.9 assists per game last year she was chosen as the 2006-2006 Associated Press Virginia Sports Writers Single-A Player of the Year along with being the Virginia High School Coaches Association Co-Player of the Year.
In the 2006-2007 season she was nominated as the McDonald's All American and has been named First Team All-District, All-Region and AP All - State.
Dominique Bryant has been starting on the St. John's College High School team since her freshman year. Over the past two years she has held the captains position while averaging 21.3 points and 9.0 rebounds a game in her junior year.
This led to her earn the First Team All-WCAC and Second Team All -Metropolitan Area Honors.
She has scored over 1,000 points in her career with 500 rebounds. This six foot forward was also a McDonald's All-American nominee.
Laren Robinson, a 5 foot 9 guard, was ranked last year 64th in the Blue Star Index To 100.
Going into her senior year this year as well as getting the Patriot District All-Tournament Tem honors along with the First Team All-Patriot District and Third Team All-Regional accolades. She averages 15.0 points a game, 8.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists.
At 6 foot 3 center Sarah Acker has been named the Wyoming Valley Conference MVP twice, leading them to a 29-1 record this previous season.
