On April 24, the St. Joe's community came together to spearhead service programs in the local area.

When the event first began in April of 2007, the program  only managed to acquire 60 volunteers and offer assitance to three service sites in the Philadelphia area.

This month, the community produced more than 300 volunteers and tackled more than 10 different service sites

The official Community Day team, which became an organization in the Spring of 2009, has since partnered with the National Alumni Board's National Day of Service and was renamed National Community Day.

The partnership means that Community Day activities will continue to branch out in the future.
With current students and alumni working together, services offered by the Saint Joseph's community will now occurr nationally.
