Hi, everyone. Hope you're enjoying the last few weeks of the semester, despite finals looming ahead. Before we know it, summer will be here.

As this is my last column for the semester, I wanted to get some updates out there and mention a couple of details about ongoing projects.

Recently, senators have been holding meetings with various administrators and offices across campus in order to address issues that many of you have brought to our attention, and that have been discussed in our meetings.

Among other things, three pronged outlets have been added in the library-and just in time for finals. Security is working on installing more lighting across campus, and the gates are no longer closed outside of Bellarmine after night classes, so students do not have to walk in the dark to return to their cars. The new cross walk on 54th Street has been completed, and will save all of us from dodging cars on our way to Cosi and the Bookstore.

On campus, Ancho Grill is now back on Wednesdays in the Dining Hall side of the cafeteria (the old Crimson Cafeteria) and several exciting additions are to arrive over the summer, including a milk shake machine on the declining balance side of the cafeteria. We also instituted a new Commuter Chair, filled by Giovanni Calvarese, '12, to address the needs and concerns of our commuter students.

Some upcoming events are Study Snacks, which we're hosting on Tuesday night of finals week. Some delicious chicken fingers are on the menu, so be sure to head on over.

Additionally, our once a semester Junk Food with the Jesuits was held on Monday, April 27 in the Presidents' Lounge. It was a great opportunity to mingle with our favorite Jesuits and to talk about everything from fun topics to faith.

Upcoming projects for next semester include the inclusion of more Jesuit-related decorations in Campion through the Mission Committee's efforts, more discussion about input on the Maguire campus renovations, continued collaboration with Off-Campus Housing, and much more. And as always, your opinions and ideas are always welcome: uss@sju.edu.

Lastly, congratulations to all of the seniors who will be graduating on May 16. We wish you the best of luck in all of your future endeavors. We will certainly miss you here on Hawk Hill next year.

Have a relaxing and safe summer-see you in August.

The Hawk Will Never Die,

Elise
